Principal’s Message

Dear Vineland K-8 Families,

It is with great pleasure and excitement that we open the 2023-2024 school year.  Our theme this year is, Camp Vineland, Explore More!  It is our goal to work together to maximize the learning of every student, ensuring we motivate them to strive for their own personal best and to have fun doing it!

Vineland K-8 Center has been an “A” school since the inception of the State of Florida’s school grading system–we have maintained a grade of “A” for twenty consecutive years.  With the new Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) assessments taken during the 2022-2023 school year, Vineland has exceeded and scored above and beyond expectations.  Our school continues to make gains, win awards, and climb the ladder of academic success.  This success would not be possible without the help of all our campers (students), camp leaders (teachers), our camp staff (support personnel) and our resident camp parents who give 150% each day to Vineland K-8 Center.

Last year, the Green Studies class won the top award for the Fairchild Challenge – the Gold Award.  Vineland surpassed 58 other public, private and charter middle schools.  In addition, Vineland was given three special merits for individual challenges and achieved their five-year goal and became a Fairchild School of Excellence.  Further, Vineland received the Silver designation three years in a row from the Everglades Challenge. Vineland’s elementary gifted classes participated in Everglades Day which helped make this Silver designation possible. Our Robotics team competed in the Vex IQ competition earning the team a chance to compete in further competitions.  Vineland middle school students participated and did extremely well in our first Math Counts competition.  Last year, our school participated in the District’s Geography Bee and received two honorable mentions in the Model United Nations competition.  Several students were selected to participate in the 2023 Superintendent’s Honors Middle School Orchestra. Vineland has been designated as a “No Place for Hate” school by the Anti-Defamation League as well as being recognized as a designated School of Excellence by the Florida Department of Education.

It is this combination of exceptional staff, phenomenal students, and supportive parents and community that makes Vineland K-8 Center the elite neighborhood school that it is.  Thank you for entrusting your children to us.  We look forward to working together with you to ensure the best educational experience available.

Respectfully,

Cathy Krtausch
